Dancer's Profile #1

A window into Fly-by-Night....
Each week for the next  month we will post a profile of one of our dancers.  This one features Marissa Maislen.
DAILY ROUTINE: Between going to classes and rehearsals, Marissa delves into her own choreography. With various dance projects stimulating her everyday, she winds down with a long walk around the parks of Manhattan. When luck is with her, she is able to borrow her brother's dog on her treks through the parks (she's a major dog-lover).
AERIAL HISTORY: At 14, Maislen took her first flight on a trapeze and never forgot the exhilaration. This happened while she was attending a summer intensive in Steamboat Springs, Colorado where Julie (Fly-by-Night's Artistic Director), was teaching trapeze-dance.
DANCE BACKGROUND:  She's a recent graduate from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.  During her last semester at Tisch, she sunk her teeth again into low-flying and hasn't looked back.
QUOTE FOR THE DAY:  "Ah listen, for Silence is not lonely: Imitate the magnificent trees that speak no word of their rapture, but only breathe largely the luminous breeze." - D.H Lawrence
