ReModeling - Building up Fly-by-Night's Capacity

Running a non-profit is like being in school full time with never a diploma in site; there is so much to learn and stay on top of! New directions in funding, current grant deadlines, new taxes, Workman's compensation policy, etc. The list goes on and on and it is a huge challenge to keep it up.

On top of everything else, we need to plan for the future. That is why is so great to have received the organizational capacity building grant from Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA). Now I have the luxury of expert advice from the consultant Sara Juli. It is like having a star player on my team; there is someone with the current information on the phone with me, ready for questions, and opening up new ways of thinking about the future and planning things with me.

Administrative funding isn't as "sexy" as program funding but it is a thrill for me to have. Thank you NoMAA!

The NoMAA Capacity Building Grant Program, is made possible by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation.
