When Jane Catherine Shaw was first recommended to us at Fly-by-Night it was soon apparent we were lucky to have her on our project. She sent us a picture of fabric she had dyed and the palette of colors was fantastic. 
The next thing Cathy sent proved her thoroughness - it was a measurement chart that a Chines tailor would covet. After dutifully sending the full list of measurement via email, one cast member wrote, "You need penis size?"
Cathy was game for anything we brought her way. We said,
- "We are going to have to cut holes in this to clip into the harness?" (no problem)
- "We will probably need reinforcement around the harness hole..." (done)
- "Can we get this in 2 weeks?" (of course)
It is wonderful when a costume designer makes your life easier but designers also need to bring a vision to life. I can't wait to see what the musicians will wear for the piece (hint - LOTS of COLOR).
